For
only 50 Euro for a return flight incl. taxes, we made an spottingtrip
to Dublin on 13th and 14th of April 2005.
We bokked this special offer on the Aer Lingus
website without any troubles.
Afer check-in at the Swiss/Aer Lingus counter we walked directly to
the dparture gate A48, which was located
at the new bus gates. It was the first time, I saw this gates form
inside. The aircraft was an Airbus A320-214 EI-DEG,
which was parked at the apron. Takeoff to Dublin was at 11:45am on
runway 29. Unfortunately the weather along our
route was bad so the view out of the window was not good. After
2:40 hours of flight time we reached Dublin airport.
Landing was on runway 28. After a short stop in an restaurant we continued
our way directly to the active runwa 28.
Walking time was about 40 minutes. The spotting point was very good.
We saw the aircrafts takeoff and landing.
Most of the traffic was Aer Lingus and Ryan Air aircrafts. Highlight
were 2 Airbus A330-300 from Aer Lingus taxiing
in front of us. In the late afternoon it started raining, so we made
our way back to the hotel.
In the evening we were going to Hard Rock Cafe Dublin - so I could
do something for another hobby - collecting
HRC T-shirts.
At the next morning we early went to the airport.
We got our boarding passes for our flight EI 660 already in Vienna
the
day before. Boarding was at gate A02 - the plane an Airbus A320-214
EI-DEH. At 7:20am. we took off at runway 28 twoards
Vienna.
