Shanghai - China (22.-28.06.2005) / Shanghai - China (June 22 to June 28, 2005)

 

In the end of June we made a city trip to Shanghai/China. After check-in and a short stop in the lounge, we went go
gate A01 for boarding. The aircraft for this flight was an Boeing 767-3Z9(ER) OE-LAW, already painted in the new
Austrian colours. At 2:15pm we took of at runway 29 for our flight to Shanghai. The flight time was about 10 hours.

Passing the cities of Minsk and Moscow we continued our flight twords China. The route was west of Beijing
to Shanghai, where we landed on runway 17
at 6:50am in the morning of the next day.


The following 5 days we spent in the largest chinese City - Shanghai. About 16 million peoples life in
Shanghai.
For our transfer from the airport to the city we used the high speed train Magelan. With about 431km/h we reached
the city within 8 minutes. After this journey we countinued per taxi to our hotel - The Grand Hyatt Shanghai. It is
the highest hotel in the world with 420 metres to the top. The hotel is located from floor 54 to 87. On the 88. floor
you can visit an observation deck with a very good view down to the city. A highlight is the swimming pool on the
57th floor. Luckily the weather was very good this week.

After 5 beautiful days we started at June 27 with a taxi back to the airport. Boarding for Austrian flight 58 to Vienna
was at 9:40am at gate 26. Takeodd was at 10:20am at runway 17 for our returnflight to Austria. The route was
west of Beijing to Moscow, Minsk and Poland twoards Vienna, where we landed at 4:05pm at runway 29.
