At
October 9 and 10, 2004 we made a short visit at London over the weekend.
In the morning we were going to the
airport. This flight was booked with Lufthansa, so we had a transfer
at Franfkurt. After check-in at the Seantor counter,
we had enought time to have a coffe in the lounge. Boarding for flight
LH 3543 to Frankfurt was at gate C53. Our aircraft
was an Airbus A321-131 D-AIRC. We started at runway 29 on time at
07:10 towards Germany. The flying time to
Frankfurt was abount 1:15 hours, landing at Frankfurt was at runway
07R. Boarding for flight LH 4726 to London was
at gate A52. This time our aircraft was an Airbus A300B4-603 D-AIAH.
Scheduled takeoff was at 9:45am at runway
18. During our final approach into runway 09L we had the opportunity
to take look onto London City. Our arrival at
London Heathrow was at 10:30am. We were going into the city by underground
directly to our hotel Thistle Tower. It
was located next to the Tower of London with a marvelous view to the
Tower Bridge.
In the afternoon we walked the the Houses of Parliament, followed
by the London eye and the to the Big Ben.
With the underground we continued to Trafalgar Square and Piccadely
Circus. The last stop for this day was at
the Buckingham Palace and a short walk through Hyde Park.
On the next morning we made a tour throught the Tower Bridge and visited
the Houses of Parliament again.
Unfortunately we couldn't walk into Harrods because it was closed
on sundays.

After lunch we were going back to Heathrow,
were I had the opportunity to make some pictures at runway 27L.
After check-in for flight LH 4737 to Frankfurt. Boarding was at gate
07, our aircraft was an Airbus A300B4-603 D-AIAP.
We took of at runway 09R at 5:55pm to Frankfurt. After 1 hour we were
landing at Frankfurt on runway 07L. Our
connecting flight to Vienna started at 9:30pm at runway 07R the landing
at Vienna was on runway 29 at 11:00pm.
This time we flew with an Airbus A321-131 D-AIRO.
